Shelter Outreach
Plus and our many programs welcome individual and group volunteers.
Every hour of volunteering allows us to use our monetary resources to increase the provision of direct services
to our clients.
Shelter Outreach Plus needs volunteers for:
• Home
repairs
• Yard maintenance
• Gardening
• Mentoring children
• Organizing storage and supplies for our food pantries and the M.O.S.T.
and I-HELP warehouse facilities.
• Fundraising
• Public relations
• Special events
• Special programs for families
• Volunteer drivers to assist our mobile teams
If you have a skill you want to share, we can find a place for
you to help. Recently, we had volunteers arrange a successful and well
attended cooking class for the children living in our programs.
Regularly,
women and men studying at the Defense Language Institute donate
their time to Shelter Outreach Plus, as mentors
to the children and to assist staff with large projects.
